Hola, welcome to the forum! Have you tried the translator at the top of the page? - rac1, May 11, 2012
yes i did. it was no help. i'm not sure which entry would fit this sentence best. - chickasha89, May 11, 2012
Then I would advise waiting on a native speaker as stated below. Someone will be along to answer you. Thanks. - rac1, May 11, 2012

"De otro modo" is indeed the right "literal" translation. And it would be "acceptable": "Autorizo a mi compañía aseguradora a que pague directamente a esta compañía la indemnizacion que de otro modo le correspondería pagarme a mi".

But if you wan't the "spanish" way to say the same, it would be: "Autorizo a mi compañía aseguradora a que pague directamente, la indemnizacion que me corresponde, a esta compañía". The difficult thing is the "way" to same the same, not the translation...

Very odd, I think my comment was removed? Anyway, it could be much quicker to use a Spanish-English dictionary, like wordreference.com in order to more seamlessly and quickly go through your works. That site also gives examples of the use in a sentence (just type in an English word). Chao.

I believe it would be, "de otro modo" in that sentence, but wait for a native speaker.
