Bien vs. buena
Hi,
So, here I am again with another (most likely silly and obvious) question.
Is there a general rule for using buena vs. bien? In class, we use bien, but today I sent an e-mail to a Spanish speaking friend of mine about a good grade that I had received, and he replied with 'Muy buena.'
Is there a major difference?

About to log out for a bit and hit the road for the day, but in short Buen(o/a) is good, wherea you'll use Bien as well. There are some unique rules to using Buen before vs after the modified masculine noun. Check the grammar section /// example Un buen libro. vs Un libro bueno.
This is just putting it simply and there's a little more to it but to get started I hope this helps ......
Bueno (buena, buenas, buenos, buen etc) = good, and being an adjective it which will modify nouns. Bueno shortens to "buen" before a masculine singular noun.
Bien = well- is an adverb so it will modify verbs, adverbs or adjectives. Bien can also translate to "pretty" before an adjective, as in my house is "pretty" old.
Bien = well Bueno = good
