What the difference

Often at the end of the lesson, Paralee said, 'If you prefer practicing in gear ... '. I've looked through Translators and i am not happy with your response. How do you say in English? Also, what is the difference between 'vamos' and 'vanomos'?

Both words means the same.

I haven't listened to the videos recently, so I don't know about that. But the difference between "vamos" and "vámonos" is that "vamos" is the first person plural present indicative of "ir", while "vámonos" is the first person plural imperative of "irse". The practical difference is very small, but they are not quite interchangeable.

"vámonos" would be used in the context of leaving a place, while " vamos" can be used with a little more flexibility. For example, "vamos a jugar al tenis" could mean "let's play tennis" while "vámonos a jugar al tenis" would be more like "let's go (somewhere) and play tennis".

This being said, most of the time they are used to mean "let's go".

"Vamos" is the third person plural of the verb "ir", which means "to go" in English. In the the imperative, "vamos" might be interpreted as "Let's go!", and there is a particular destination given or implied. In the indicative, it simply means "we go." "Vamonos", on the other hand, is the third person plural of the verb "irse", which means "to leave" in English. In the imperative, "vamonos" might also be interpreted as "Let's go" but may also be interpreted as "Let's leave" and there is no physical destination given or implied. The emphasis is on the departure. I suspect that, in the vernacular, the two forms are used interchangeably, especially in the imperative.
