I have heard the term Ring of Fire for the volcanic circle that is formed by the west coasts of north and south america and the east coast of asia.

Thus: anillo de fuego?

I have asked my husband, the Englishman, as volcanic belt sounded most odd to me;

In England we say Volcanic Chain:

Cadena de volcanos, cadena volcánica. If that is a Spanish expression I have no idea, nor do I yet have that Spanish lover, who could tell me.. La vida sigue muy trista.

El cinturón volcánico de Centroamérica

That's a rough translation, let's wait for others.

I think it's right, if the expression exists.. - annierats, May 5, 2012
Please see my answer, the expression does not exist in England, an unvolcanic country. - annierats, May 5, 2012
