How does one say "Senior Center" in Spanish. I'm trying to say that "we are learning Spanish at our 'Senior Center in' ________". The translator comes up with el centro de senior, Centro Mayor, or el centro de ancianos. Are any of these terms common or at least recognizable to a native speaker who doesn't speak much English?

It depends on what you do in it. Generically, It can be "un centro de ancianos", or more euphemistically " un centro del adulto mayor". It might be a "cub social para ancianos" if it promotes social activities, or an "ancianato" if they live in it..

Maybe with more information, you'll get a better answer

Thank you. In my town, it's a gathering place/building for people 55 and older where we can play cards, sign up for trips, local events and if people have a skill and want to teach it at the Center. - AnnB, May 4, 2012
"cub social para ancianos" or "cub social para la tercera edad" should do the job - comunacho, May 5, 2012
