Practice practice practice. Repetition, daily study and good material. Listen to the music from the language you want to learn, watch some programs in that language etc. Studying the phonetics of a language first is great, you want to make sure you read it and think it as it will sound when you hear it. This also helps with ortografía etc.

Native help is a great tool also! A grammar book or two. Repetition and practice, same as you learned your first language. That's my thought on it. !Buena suerte¡
