Did I get the sentence construction right?

Just created my first long sentence through my new-found knowledge in Spanish. It goes: Tu eres un gran hombre pero tu cremallera es abrir. Now, though I know that it does mean what I want it to, I am not sure if the sentence construction is right. Could somebody help?
