How come today's email "más" is totally different on the video explanation?

A Spanish word can have different meanings when combined with other Spanish words.
On the video translation it says, "This adjective means 'more'. For example, 'l necesitaba más dinero' / 'He needed more money'. Más."
And yet when you scroll through the SD dictionary there are many uses for "más".
One example is: estar de más; to be unnecessary; be superfluous
