Can someone help me translate these two lines of lyrics?

"Ahora que esto es imposible nos decimos toda la verdad .. ya le has regalado a alguien lo que no querías enseñar."

The closest I can come up with: "Now that this is impossible, we tell ourselves all of the truth... already you have given it away to someone that you did not want to teach."

I'm a little confused by "ya le has regalado" and what the "le" is referring to. Can someone tell me if this is right?

You are very close. I would say ".... we tell each other......"

And without more context, I would think that "esto" refers to "our relationship."

"le" refers to "alguien" so it would be "you have already (or possibly "now") given someone that which you didn´t want to teach."

It's actually the first line of the song, so there is no context to what esto is referring to, but you're probably right. - fantaaastic, Apr 29, 2012
