Es un día hermoso.
I second Juliss's answer. Generally, exclamations of the form "what a ____!" are translated as "qué ____!" The phrase following "qué" can either be (1) a noun preceded by an adjective or (2) a noun followed by "tan" and then an adjective.
Edit: Or a noun or adjective by itself, though that isn't applicable in this particular case.
qué día hermoso !
Qué hermoso día! o Qué día tan hermoso!
Es un buen día. I think that is the term used for a nice day.(in weather terms)
hace buen dia
Also very common in Mexico "¡Qué día más hermoso!"
