Use of the upside down exclamation mark
Hi guys,
Do you only use the upside down exclamation mark at a new sentence?
Por ejemplo: ¡Hola! ¡Buenas noches!
Is that wrong or right? Should it be: ¡Hola! Buenas noches! (?)
Thanks a bunch folks!

You put the upside down exclamation point before the beginning of every new sentence and the regular exclamation point at the end.
Por ejemplo: ¡Mi perro comió mi tarea! My dog ate my homework!
You are correct: ¡Hola! y ¡Buenas noches!
Hope that helps ![]()
¡Bienvenida al foro!
The interesting thing about the introductory exclamation and question marks is that they don't necesarily have to be at the beginning of the sentence. It is completely correct to say los caballos corren my rápidos ¿no? the no? is still part of the same sentence but since the question was introduced half way through, you can use the introductory question mark to indicate what part of the sentece is a question. Same goes for exclamation points. I know that isn't exactly what your question was but yes, you are formating your examples correctly, I just thought it was interesting that you can also use the introductory marks in this way. ~Ave
You are on the right track. Example: ¡Me gustan los libros! y me gusta la camiseta! Hope this helped and good job!
