Como se dice "Pa' "

Como se dice "Pa' "

I keep running into this apparent contraction in song titles: "Me Voy Pa' Cali" and "Tiempo Pa' Pensa" (Maybe that last word was "Pensar") Haven't found it in phrase searches or dictionaries. My latest guess is that it is short for "para", but that is only a guess. Anyone know for sure? Thanks for any help.

When it comes to songs, the writers/artists will not always use correct grammar since it is not meant to be a grammar leason. - rac1, Apr 24, 2012
Makes sense. The only place i have ever seen this kind of contraction is in a song lyric or title. Thank you for the insight. - pocosueño, Apr 25, 2012

Is using 'Pa' instead of 'para' very common?
