Hobbies are called in Spanish "pasatiempos" or "aficiones".

"I like taking photos" would be "mi pasatiempo es sacar fotos", "soy aficionado/a a la fotografía" "mi afición es sacar fotos".

The verb "gustar" can be used also, but does not convey the regularity of the action. "Me gusta sacar fotos" is closer to "I enjoy taking photos".

If you practice a sport in an amateur fashion, you are "un(a) deportista aficionado/a" (though "amateur" is also used, readed with the Spanish rules).

A comment. When talking about photos, you can use the verbs "sacar" and "tomar" to translate "to take". - comunacho, Apr 22, 2012
