Sunday joke\El chiste del domingo
A blind meeting after getting in touch on the Internet.
The guy: I know that I'm not handsome, tall and muscular. But you aren't what you assured me you looked like either.
Matilde: Do you think that if I were blond, thin, pulpous and smart, I would send messages on the Internet?
I hope you will enjoy the Sunday joke. All corrections are appreciated.![]()

in informal context people say I'm, instead of I am, correct is you aren't either - check the place where you put either correct is: if I were and not if I was - please check conditional clauses choose I would send instead of I would be sending
Haha, good one, Silvia! I think they'd fit together very nicely. ![]()
What country is this from? I notice that the woman says "vos te creés" (el voseo)
Excellent joke, Silvia.. And in the subjunctive, I din't think one could joke about the subjunctive.. ¡Bien hecho!
Hey, Silvia, nice one. And since you asked for possible corrections, here goes. ![]()
Internet -> the Internet, in this case.
full of muscles - muscular
you aren't either what you assured me you looked like -> you aren't what you assured me you looked like either (I wouldn't say it's incorrect; it's just a matter of style and sounding more natural)
and again, "on the Internet".
Cheers.
Funny. And applicable in every country, I think.
I'm wondering about the word "pulposa." I know the translator say "pulpous," but that's not a very appealing adjective for a woman. I wonder what English word might be better. "Voluptuous" maybe?
¡Muy gracioso!
Muchas gracias![]()
