Getting started here... suggestions?

How do i become more involved in every aspect of this website like leaderboards and reputation and interact more with people on here to improve my spanish?

First, welcome to SpanishDict, by far the best free Spanish learning website there is (my opinion is based on a 2 year's search for a website like this one).

You can read all about Reputation here, but in general, your reputation goes up by participating in the forums.

One great place where you can interact with people and learn a lot at the same time is this board, i.e. Q&A, where you can ask questions like this one, or just read other people's questions and perhaps even answer them. Some threads are in the form of games, mostly word games, in which everyone can participate.

Another awesome place is the chat, where you can chat with people in real time (instant messages). There's text only, text+audio, and text+audio+video. You'll need 30 rep in order to access the chat, but you'll get it in no time.
