my spanish lesson

Question

hillo. good day to you! i am garriel a new spanish student from Philippines and yo sé como hablar tres lenguas como filipino, inglés y cebuano) and i want to know Spanish that is why i study so hard, but without the opinion of of others and your help i cannot do this by my own, so i wrote this letter or questions to ask from you a clarification regarding my ongoing lesson in Spanish !( i preferred specially Spanish teachers).

I am still in basic now and i am using the book of john kenneth leslie from north western university and his book entitled Spanish for conversation-- a beginning grammar. and each of his lesson has a questions but written in Spanish.. so that i can understand it i translated it on my own!

from his book here is the story he has given!

                                  En la clase

Hay muchos alumnos en la clase. hay muchachos y hay muchachas. hay también un profesor. él señor martinez es el profesor. uno de los muchachos es juan. otro muchachos es carlos. una de las muchachas es virginia. otra muchacha es maría. juan es de tejas. es alto y moreno. es delagdo también. carlos no es moreno, como juan , es rubio. no es alto y delgado ; es bajo y gordo. carlos es de nueva york. virginia es de california. la otra muchacha, maria, es de tejas , como juan. ella no es rubia , como virginia ; es morena. y es pequeña. las dos muchachas son hermosas. los alumnos son jovenes. el señor martinez es viejo. él es intellegente, y los alumnos son intellegente también. yo soy otro alumno de la clase. soy de chicago. no estudiamos en la clase. preparamos la lección en casa. escuchamos y contestamos a las preguntas. conversamos en la clase y hablamos en español.

----- ¿ de dónde es usted? -- pregunta el señor martinez. ----- soy de chicago. señor -- contesto. ---- yo soy de espana -- contesta el señor martinez.

Questions:

1. If you will be the one to translate how would it be?(so that i can compare it with mind?) and why?

   1. Which of the following is or are regular or irregular verbs listed below and what is their conjugation in present tense, past tense and future tense and which of this verbs take a preposition? please answer..

   . comprender . decir . contestar . preguntar . entrar .ser . conversar . preparar . escibir .estar . escuchar . leer . estudiar . explicar

2. I am a little bit confused of how the word "explica" "pregunta" "contesta" which is the 3rd sing. person for él, ella and usted used in the story stated above. example en la clase el señor martinez explica la lección. -- in class mr. martinez explain the lesson.. if literally translated : in class mr. martinez he explain the lesson. how does the author constructed his grammar? WHY HE USES 3rd singular person?

3. am i correct in my grammar composition and translations?

   ¿ de dónde eres? or ¿de dónde es usted? -- where are you from? ¿ de dónde son juan y maria? -- where does john and maria from? ¿Es joven el señor martinez? -- is mr. martinez young? ¿son hermosas las muchachas? --- are the girls beautiful? ¿ prepara usted la lección el casa? -- do you prepare the lesson at home? ¿ habla usted español en la clase? do you speak Spanish in class?
