Bienvenida/bienvenido

Hola a todos!

I have thought that when you say "welcome" to a woman, you would say, "bienvenida", but I have seen several people say "bienvenido" when addressing females.

My question is, was I wrong when I thought that it changes based on gender?

Gracias a todos.

And please correct my English if there are any mistakes as I am sure there are.

You're right, Kat, you should say "bienvenida" if you are talking to a woman.

Pero si hay también algún hombre junto a la mujer, se utiliza la forma masculina "bienvenidos".
