In lesson 3.8 they teach that "mente" have to be added to a word which form new word.
Rapidamente : quickly Lentomente : slowly
Do "Mente" means "ly"

A couple of corrections to the English to make it more clear: "mente" has to... which forms a new... Does 'Mente" mean "ly"? Why is mente important in Spanish? Hope this helps. - katydew, Apr 12, 2012

Adding '-mente' in Spanish makes it an adverb just like adding -ly in English usually makes the word an adverb (describer of a verb - how the action is done).
