Is "¿Está usted de la Argentina?" correct, or would you use Es?

Está usted en Argentina? are you in argentina?

Es usted de Argentina? Are you from Argentina?

It's es, a form of ser. Because it's talking about "usted" and not "argentina" it can't be a form of estar because estar is only for temporary conditions or places. Hope that helps! smile

It would be "es". Also, you can delete the usted if you want to sound more like a native speaker. So, you would say "¿Es de Argentina?" The la is not used in this instance.
