Really close, Billf! It should be, "Me duele mucho." which means it hurts a lot.

If you want to say, "My back hurts." You say, "Me duele la espalda." Etcetera!

Although me duele mucho is the correct translation of it hurts a lot if the subject is speaking about themself, it is not a universal translation.

It hurts a lot having an anvil dropped on one's head like off Road Runner would translate differently.

My question is would you say simply 'duele mucho' or would you have to say something like 'le duele mucho a uno'?

Voy a ser doctor is correct Spanish. I gonna be a doctor is terrible English thus I have to question the accuracy of your translation :-) - afowen, Apr 4, 2012

"gonna" or "going to"? And you should ask that in a separate question. - 00cdfbd9, Apr 4, 2012
