Question

Where am I? And also: give at least 3 reasons why I should not feel safe here. 3 or more reasons that have been in the newspapers, I mean.

No immediate googling, please! Must be somebody out there who knows it.

Are you refering to the Amazonia in Brazil?

The meander at the picture looks like someone from the Amazon River.

There you couldn't feel safe because there are cocodiles, piranhas and serpents.

¿Es Lago Atitlan? Hay cazadores furtivos, secuestradores y el volcán.

Is it Lake Atitlan? There are poachers, kidnappers and of course the volcano.

It is not Lago Atitlan (look at my hint). But poachers are indeed active here. As far as I know, the vulcano is not that active. - mcl020, Apr 4, 2012

I still owe you (and myself) the 'final answer' to this question: I was indeed in Guatemala's National Park 'Laguna del Tigre'. And impressive, beautiful, special, but alas very dangerous place to be. Dangers include: - severe forest fires
- poachers
- crocodiles
- narcos and squatters who find refuge here
- and all consequences of the fact that they are quite busy winning oil here

Los volcanes y los niños saltando al agua me recuerdan de Atitlán. Pero también pensaba de Lago Nicaragua y Ometepe con sus dos volcanes. Sin embargo, ya se confirmó que no es Nicaragua entonces voy con Guatemala. No tengo ni idea de las otras fotos y no leyendo las noticias, de los peligros...
