Greetings - All in Plurals? i!

Buenos días. Buenos tardes. Buenas noches.
Just noticed that they are all in plurals. I believe to it otherwise would sound unnatural and unidiomatic, I suppose. Coments?
Other languages seem all in singular: Good morning (e). Good evening (e). Guten tag (g). Guten nacht (g). Bon jour (f). Bon soir (f).

Some countries use the singular form when saying good bye (as in Have a good day, a good afternoon or a good evening). Examples: Que pase un buen día/una buena tarde/una buena noche. I personally use the plural all the time.

Go to the Carribean where final ss are not pronounced and you won't notice it.
I tend to greet people 'buen día', which is clearly singular...
