¡Ánimo amigos! / Cheer up, folks!
I am not sure what transpired on this site in the last few weeks (I'm new at the site), but I feel everyone is so quiet. It's all water under the bridge now. Cheer up!
I can tell there are many native Spanish speakers who are dedicated and capable of helping those who need to learn Spanish. Let's start on a clean slate. So ask away! We're here to help you!

Good on you mate , a lot of us older members are still here and are still having a ball,
We are so lucky to have many new and brilliant Spanish native speakers here who
are doing a tremendous job correcting our Spanish , and many of us are here to
help with English whenever we can . Everything changes nothing is permanent ,
what once was no longer exists , there is only the present time , so let us all
enjoy this great site for what it is , and strive to make it even better . I love every
minute I am here and feel privileged to have met and to know so many wonderful
helpful people . There is no benefit in looking back with regret , but there are
benefits galore in enjoying all that we have now , for now is the only true reality.
Two men looked out from behind prison bars,
One saw mud the other saw stars.
Well I am looking at all the stars that I see around me on this site ,
and it makes me proud and very happy to be a part of you all.

I agree with Franco! I think everything will work itself out. The site will grow and get better and better. The native speakers who have stepped, like Franco, Cordobesa, Cae and others, have been awesome. The old stalwarts, like Ray, (forgive me the term Ray), and other long term members like Sandy, Marianna, Kat, forgive me for not mentioning everybody, are keeping us on course. The important thing here is not personalities, but the love of the language, and the desire to share it with others. So let's cheer up and move forward! ¡Viva SpanishDict.com! Viva nuestros miembros!

We have a WONDERFUL SD Team now. People need to move on.
I am very tired of people referring to the ones that left as the "experts" and such. I'm sure they were. But, what about the people we have NOW? What about how good and helpful THEY are? Why do so many people have to look back on what we HAD and think, "Oh, it was the best. No one can fill that hole now, so I'm going to be negative about it." It's OVER.
I think it's a shame that people will not appreciate what they have now. For example, people like Cordobesa who is always helping others on here and so many other wonderful correctors.
Please do not focus on the past simply to be negative about what we have now. I'm sorry that this is so long, but it really, really annoys me. :|
I agree, Franco. There has been a bit of a downer attitude of late. And I think some SMILEY faces instead of sad faces for avatars could be in order.
Just kidding, of course.
AND
I have stayed out of this for a long time it seems. I do think we have to move on. We must also realize that it was a very, very sad time for a lot of people on here and to be honest, I still do not understand why things turned out the way they did. People need their time to grieve, in their own way, how ever long it takes. Time can heal all wounds. Give them some space.
Let's look to the future with hope, but let us also learn from past mistakes. Let's not repeat the same old pattern that led to what happened before. As we start fresh, let's do so with more consideration of one another, more respect and a little more patience; with learning as our primary goal. I for one do not want to be any part of more drama.
I believe this is a great site. There are many dedicated people here that are committed to our learning Spanish and/or English. They DO really care! They are the reason I'm here.
If we set the bar a little higher and believe in ourselves, we can and will succeed at achieving our goals here and maybe even enjoy the ride. lol
I love you all and I appreciate each of you. I hope you know that. ![]()

Let's learn Spanish!!!
How would we know if they were back, just using other names?
I agree with you Franco...and Ray, Kat, Joe, Rac.....

We are all so fortunate to have what we do here at SpanishDict. I can't image letting a few others spoil what we have built up to be a wonderful community of language learners. Some of the members will be missed, some not so much, but that doesn't mean we close the doors to SD and go home.

Francobollo, you are new here and yet you feel that it is so much more quiet than before ?!?! And immediately assume that lots of drama must have happened. "Let's start with a clean slate" ... "No queda de otra" (what other???)
I think it's a bit strange to feel that way and moreover to express it as well.
I joined when that drama you are referring to had just happened and people were still talking about it on this forum. But since then, the site has moved on. And not many of the 'old people' have really left, neither do I find this site quiet. On the contrary.
Hola a todos,
Soy una persona nueva en el sitio, pero creo que es genial. Estoy agradecido de que todo el mundo es tan útil. Gracias a todos por la ayuda y el aliento.
I am a new person to the site. I am grateful everyone is so helpful.
Thanks to all for the help and encouragement. ![]()
Hi Franco
You know why the situation is so.
Most of those members who use to participate / contribute most on SpanishDict no longer do so as much.
A big shame really because they are what made the site the vibrant one that it was.
