Do most people use excepto more than salvo? What countries use salvo?

Hi... I do not think the usage of excepto or salvo is country related. I have heard excepto used more often that salvo (salvo is used more in written form). But both words can be used interchangeably.

I agree with Francobollo. "Excepto" is more frequently used here (Spain) than "salvo", but I don't think it depends on the country.
