C.I. and C.D.
How to find out if we talk about female or male object when using a CI form because in CD there are Lo/La and Los/Las ... but in CI there is only Le Les
1 Answer
You should look at the noun. Evenwhen you are in front of a direct complement, you need to know the gender of the noun to do the pronoun exchange.
Juan compra manzanas a tu mamá
-> Juan las compra ("manzanas" is the direct complement)
->Juan le compra manzanas ("tu mamá" is the indirect complement)
When you analyze the direct complement case, you need to know it's gender before you can select the correct pronoun (la, lo, las, los). And to do that, you look at the noun.
