Subjuntivos

Question

Please help me with muy following querry:-

1) In following sentence the subordinate clause is in subjunctive imperfect, in this case is it necessary that main clause has to be indicativo.

No le (ellos HACER) ________ eso si él hubiera sido menos inocente.

2) If there are two clauses in a sentence, then is it necessary that main clause has to be indicative and then only second clause can be subjunctive???

I don't believe that the subjunctive is necessary in this case because it's a fact--They would not have done that to him it if he had been less innocent (naive, harmless).

No le hubieron hecho eso si él hubiera sido menos inocente.

The correct sentences would be:

• No le habrían hecho eso si él hubiera sido menos inocente. (They wouldn't had done...) [Condicional simple (habrían)] + [Pretérito imperfecto (hubiera)]

• No le hubieran hecho eso si él hubiera sido menos inocente. (They wouldn't had done...) [Pretérito imperfecto (hubieran)] + [Pretérito imperfecto (hubiera)]

It could be correct if you say:

• No le harían eso si él hubiera sido menos inocente.

Tengo una pregunta se podría usar esta frase: Si me hubieras hecho caso antes ahora no tendrías tanos problemas. Creo que si se trata de presente se puede usar despues solo condicional presente, tengo razón? - 00b815ee, Sep 19, 2014
