I have to confess something, Father. Tell me, my son. I always sleep during your sermons. We are all human, Your Higness. I myself sleep during your speeches. Oh, everything changes in a moment of honesty.

Brilliant katy! The last one could it be : , so ends a gentle moment of honesty? - annierats, Mar 17, 2012
Thanks for calling me brilliant, Annie. It made me laugh, but I enjoyed it... ha I was wondering what to do with the last bit and figured it must be the way it's said. - katydew, Mar 17, 2012

I have something to confess, Father.
Tell me, my son.
I always fall asleep during your sermons
We are humans, your Highness. I fall asleep during your speeches.
Thus ends a weak moment of honesty.

I edited the last sentence, because of annierats comment. She's right! - mcl020, Mar 17, 2012
The 'ahí' was very difficult to read, ask katydew ;-)))) - mcl020, Mar 17, 2012
Actually, I think "alas" might be the best English translation.... - katydew, Mar 17, 2012
MC, you're not giving me a hard time are you... hahahha.. yes, thus I think... but probably Thus ends a tender moment... Listen, I'm lucky if I see English and can see it. - katydew, Mar 17, 2012

I believe that in this instance, discursos means confessions. Is this not so?

Would make it even funnier ;-) - mcl020, Mar 17, 2012
We need a good Catholic to fill us in on whether this is confessions or his speech! ha... but it would be funnier. - katydew, Mar 17, 2012
I think so!! - kdrinning, Mar 17, 2012
Not in fact, "discurso," means a speech, talk or discussion - 002262dd, Mar 17, 2012
I understand, but it is a priest that he is talking to! Native speakers, could this be interpreted as confessions?fJust curious.' - kdrinning, Mar 17, 2012

My attempt:

I have a confession father

Tell me, my son

I always fall asleep during your sermons

We are human, high-minded. I sleep during your speeches

My conclusion a tender moment of honesty
