Try in Spanish?

Question

Can someone give me the proper usage for the various Spanish words that mean "to try" in Spanish? For example, intentar, tratar, probar, etc...

Intento tratar tu pregunta. ( I'll try to deal with your question. )

Tenemos que probar algunas soluciones..( We'll have to try some solucions )

Tengo que probar los pantalones. ( I'll have to try the trousers on).

Hay que probar el helado italiano. ( You have taste the italian icecream)

La película se trata de dos mujeres.. ( The film is about two women )

Intento a endender el castellano . ( I'm trying to understand Spanish).

Those are some examples, I hope they may be of help. Note that I'm only another student, however.

Enforzarse - something like "try hard". But maybe it depents of the context.
