"Otherwise"

"Otherwise"

How might one say "otherwise" in Spanish?

For example, how might the following sentence be translated into Spanish from English?:

  • The rapid advancement of my linguistic skills has given me many unique opportunities that I otherwise would have never been able to obtain.

My guess:

  • El progreso rápido de mis habilidades lingüísticas me ha dado muchas oportunidades únicas que de lo contrario nunca habría obtenido.

Corrections, anyone?

•El progreso rápido de mis habilidades lingüísticas me ha dado muchas oportunidades únicas que nunca habría obtenido de lo contrario.

I´d move it to the end of the sentence, because it doesn´t sound right when it´s directly placed after "que."

I think you did an excellent job translating it, though! And I really appreciate the full attempt at trying to translate it before asking for help! Way to go!

I think your sentence Is totally correct. I wouldn't make any change other than adding a comma after "únicas"..
