In Cuba they use the word PARE for a sign. What does it mean in Cuba?

As El Gran Hermano indicated herein, even not knowing the native language one can still make an educated guess by the shape and background color of the sign...in fact, the word "pare" can be removed and you would very likely react very similarly upon seeing the red octagon, the layout of the intersection, traffic, etc. smile
