What is the difference amog words: "así" and " como"

"Así" is "so" in the sense of "It is so." or "That's the way it is". "Así es" "¿Así?" could be "Like this?"

I show you how to add a contact to your new cell-phone. Then I hand you the phone and have you try it. You do it and say, "¿Así es?"

"Como" is more akin to "like" in the sense of "Like this one?" "¿Cómo éste/a?" "Lo haces como si fueras profesional." Would be "You do it like (or "as if") you were a professional."
