"Even then..."

"Even then..."

A quick question on how to write the following sentence:

  • "Even then I knew I wanted to study literature."

I am writing about when I was little and my mother would read me stories: even then (even when I was that young/even that long ago) I knew I wanted to study literature.

I have already used the phrases "Desde entonces yo era niña" and "A partir de este momento" in my essay, so I need another way of wording "Even then" so that the language is not repetitious.

When I type the sentence into this website's translator, it gives me: "Incluso entonces, sabía que quisiera estudiar la literatura." Is this correct?

Thank you in advance for all the help this forum always gives me. You guys are the best!

Muchas gracias, Farallon! I recently had a native speaker correct my essay and they changed your sentence to: "Incluso desde ese entonces, supe que..." Does this seem to also make sense? - AlyssaLTerry, Mar 10, 2012
Either way is fine! The two examples I gave you are also well written sentences. Spanish is very pliable! - farallon7, Mar 11, 2012

Try "aun cuando" = "even when (I was young)"

Ya entonces sabía que me gustaría estudiar la literatura.

This is only a suggestion, await a native!
