¿"Amarillo Azul"?
What is the signficance of "amarillo azul" when used as a phrase? I've heard it used in several songs, and the literal translation doesn't make sense within the context.

The only way to figure out what this means is by CONTEXT!!!! Everything (well almost everything) is literal in spanish and you have to look at the 'big picture' not just a little phrase
No idea! Give us the whole sentence! That would give us the context.
I'd say this is another way of saying black and blue, or that beat up feeling fig.
Speaking as an artist, amarillo (yellow) and azul (blue) are two of three essential colors to make whole, complete images ... when the pigments are mixed, you get another color (green); when the lights (colored light) are mixed ... you get nothing. Colored light is achieved by fractionating white light (as sunlight passed through a prism). You might say that amarillo and azul are incomplete and cannot ever form a whole ??? At least that is the way this song strikes me.
the second verse explains it as "when the devil has the face of an angel"
The Amarillo may be referring to the city by that name. Context would help.
Well, the little context that has been provided makes this idea obsolete.
Give us the name of the song or post the lyrics.
