I am translating a document and it is talking about architectural drafting. how can I translate drafting other than dibujo technico, but the actual action of drafting.

You can say hacer or realizar el (or un) dibujo técnico.

I have used the "redacción de anteproyectos" when referring to architectural drafting in company catalogs.
