Hi! My understanding is cada puts more emphasis on being singular while todos takes its subject as a whole.

cada - each, todos - all

por ejemplo:

cada número - every number

todos los números - all numbers

As for cada dia and todos los dias, I believe they can be interchanged but they don't necessarily mean the same thing.

By the way, I'm not a native spanish speaker so correct me if I'm wrong.

I agree with you here and feel you have the concept. Cada is each, singular and todal is all plural. - bandit51jd, Mar 10, 2012
Cada día is each day, the days are individual recognized. With todos los días the days are in a group and are not seen as individuals. - bandit51jd, Mar 10, 2012
Each day of the week. Cada día de la semana. Every month of the year. Todos los meses del año. - bandit51jd, Mar 10, 2012
I had not really studied this out, so thanks for your answer! - bandit51jd, Mar 10, 2012

Hola jttorbey. Click here for toda and here for cada.

Many times these words are used in Spanish expressions and they are very different. I hope this helps to use our dictionary. I hope you continue to enjoy the forum!

no veo la diferencia. There doesnt seem to be a difference in any part of speech, or words it goes with, or any clues at all really - jttorbey72, Mar 6, 2012
