I can't figure this out

I've been listening to a pretty easy spanish audio but there is a short phrase or word that has me stumped! The complete phrase is: "los padres de Enrique (say de bowl see ahn) cunado el tiene tres años..." (the parents of Enrique --------- when he was 3 years old). For those who want to hear it, go to iTunes; select "language". This podcast is under learn spanish & is titled "Basic Spanish SPN 101, 102, 103". The specific podcast is 3A & the above phrase is at 1:46 minutes. Thanks for any help!

se divorcian

they divorced? and maybe cuando instead of cunado?

Put the word divorciarse in the conjugation tool at the top and you'll see it.

I KNEW it would be easy, but not sure why I couldn't figure it out! It does sound more like "divorcian" than "divorciaron" (8914's choice) even though it SHOULD be preterite.... whatever - t8805jg, Mar 5, 2012
Good for you for doing some listening exercises. That should really help your learning. - katydew, Mar 6, 2012

se divorciaron, past tense of divoricarse? "The parents of Enrique divorced when he was 3 years old." or "Enrique's parents divorced when he was 3 years old."

Hope this helps.
