Hola todos,

Estoy confundida acerca de esto y yo necesidad alguna ayuda. (I'm hoping this is at least almost right!)

So since I am a female do I say "entienda"? That doesn't seem right, but someone told me it changes from "entiendo".

Any help would be appreciated.

Gracias.

Verbs are not dependent on gender. I understand remains the same in first person.

There is a verb section, where that you can look conjugations up. It helps. grin

hello Kat, since it's a verb its conjugation will be the same for the first noun, so 'entiendo' is the right one.

If you wanted to say "I was understood," I beleive then you would say "Fui entendida." The participle acts as an adjective so the ending would change according to gender.

If you were about to say "I understand what you are saying," you would use Entiendo regardless of gender. (Remember your present tense verb endings -o,-as,-a,-amos,-ais,-an and -o,-es,-e,-emos/imos,-eis,-en)

So entiendo is always first person singular meaning "I understand."

Entienda is third person singular subjunctive (something you will learn later on) and can be used with Usted commands.
