Ok so I have lifted some text (the part regarding registration) of my schools learning website and inserted it into this paragraph, which is answering a question on the differnces in the schooling systems of England and Spain. I would love to know of any mistakes I have made and also if if makes sense regarding this matter.

Muchas gracias!

"En inglaterra todos los estudiantes llevan uniforme pero solo algunos estudiantes en los institutos privatas en españa llevan uniforme. La clase que tienen primero caundo pasan lista a mí me parecía inútil. Prefiero el sístema en Inglaterra donde pasan lista en cada clase. En España las clases terminan muy temprano en la tarde, sin embargo a mi instituto terminamos a las cautro. "

I'll try to help, but i dont understand very well what do you want to say in some parts.

Let's go.

"En inglaterra todos los estudiantes llevan uniforme, en cambio, solo algunos estudiantes de los institutos privados de españa llevan uniforme.

Pasar lista solo en la primera clase me parece inutil, prefiero el sistema ingles en donde pasan lista en cada clase.

En España las clases terminan muy temprano. sin embargo, en mi instituto terminamos a las cuatro."

i dont understand this: En España las clases terminan muy temprano en la tarde

temprano is opposite to tarde. temprano mean early. And tarde could be late or afternoon.

Nos vemos!

It means "In Spain, classes finish early in the afternoon." Tarde means late and afternoon, both. One is an adjective, the other is a noun. - Elcuba, Mar 3, 2012

shouldn´t it be "por la tarde" instead of "en"? - missy8888, Mar 13, 2012

Hi there, Hope the following paragraph helps. Have only had to change a couple of things. Wasn't too clear your sentence in spanish saying that having registration is useless, so have had to modify it a bit. Have also put parecer in the present tense, feels like it works better that way. Tempted to say 'donde se pasa lista' instead of 'donde pasan lista' but I think either works. smile

“En Inglaterra todos los estudiantes llevan uniforme, pero solo algunos de los estudiantes en los institutos privados en España llevan uniforme. La clase primera es solo para pasar lista, que a mí me parece inútil. Prefiero el sistema en Inglaterra donde pasan lista en cada clase. En España las clases terminan muy temprano en la tarde, sin embargo a mi instituto terminamos a las cuatro.”

We, native Spanish speakers, would rarely say "la clase primera", but "la primera clase". "A mi instituto terminamos..." no está bien. Lo correcto es "EN mi instituto".o - Elcuba, Mar 3, 2012
Now you say that I am thinking "Of course, I already knew this" but evidently I didn't :o but thanks for the tip! :) - danohara, Mar 6, 2012
