Mucho would be for a noun. Like Están muchos coches. Muy would be be for an adjective. Like ella está muy feliz. Just describes a different part of speech.

What are you trying to say with, "Están muchos coches"? You would normally say, "Hay muchos coches" or, "Son muchos coches," not, "Están muchos coches." - FigueroaGaray33, Mar 2, 2012

Mucho = much, a lot, many
- I love you very much! ¡Te amo mucho! (¡Te amo muchísimo!)
- ¡Tenemos mucho de que hablar! = We have a lot to talk about!
Muy = very
- ¡Estoy muy cansado! = I am very tired!
¡Muy bien! = Very well!
However, ¡Tengo mucho frío! = I am very cold!, ¡Tengo mucho calor! I am very hot!, etc. will confuse you a lot.You will get this with time and practice.

Me gusta mucho el pan / I like the bread very much.
En general, muy se usa antes de adverbios y adjetivos, y mucho se usa antes de sustantivos (generalemente).
