There are so many variations of culture, customs etc. You've heard of "salsa?" Here is an example by Gilberto Santa Rosa from Puerto Rico, He is known as, "el caballero de la salsa". His lyrics are very clear and a great learning tool. Later, if you like, I will post examples of Spanish music from other regions of the world.

I really enjoyed this. You are right. He is easy to understand, but yet I learned some new vocabulary. I think posting songs is a wonderful idea.

Also, I am reading a book in Spanish called "Como Agua para Chocolate" (Like Water for Chocolate.) I am learning so much vocabulary and the way that sentences are structured. It is quite a learning experience as well, even though it is taking me a lllloooonnnnnggggg time and many trips to the dictionary. It is worth it, though.

I know that in the past people have posted short stories on the site, and I think that this is wonderful. I have read several that were good, and I will try to find them and post to the site as well.

Thanks for your selection. Please continue to send other great learning tools to the site!

Sometimes i print out the lyrics to a song that i like the sound of, then i get my spanish dictionary and start looking up the words i dont know in the first few verses, listen again and repeat the next verse and so on. It sure has helped my vocabulary in a much less boring way than flashcards

When I starting learning Spanish I got some of the music, which was very helpful. The down-side was that I fell in love with Enrique. Jejeje

Most of my vocabulary is from spanish music. Whenever I hear a certain spanish word I can remember which song I learned that word from. Also to listen to a spanish song that I struggled with before and can now understand it completely is very enjoyable.

Gilberto Santa Rosa can be very funny too. Watch this youtube-clip. He is performing his great song 'La agarro bajando' while a female fan who joined him on stage falls down. He immeditately adapts the lyrics wink))
