I want use a word or phrase to let my brother know that I love and appreciate him looking out for me and the security he makes me feel when he tells me I am his precious baby sister. I haven't been able to see him in a long time and I really miss him. He is in Miami and speaks Spanish most of the time and I speak none, but am trying to learn. Can you help?

Although this doesn't necessarily convey loving or caring, "hermanito" is a more colloquial and comforting way of saying brother. Much like "abuelita" is a more affectionate way of calling your grandma "abuela," "hermanito" can mean something more precious.

However, "hermanito" can also mean "little brother" since it uses the "-ito" ending.
