"por dicho"

A response to Como estas? Bien por dicho.

The phrase is actually "bien por dicha." It's a shortening of the phrase "bien, por dicha. Gracias a Dios." It's super Costa Rican, hence the many Spanish speakers from other countries saying it's "plain wrong" -- it's not.

The meaning is not exactly clear. Pretty sure it could be translated as "good, thankfully/happily/luckily."

Yes, it can be used as answer to Como estás.

I've never heard the phrase "bien por dicho". I think you are trying to said: bien, he dicho (good, I said). The best answer to Como estas? is "Bien, muy bien, mas o menos, etc."

I second Jeska! I have never heard or use that expression and does not make sense at all. Now, you can answer "¡Digamos que bien!, or even in a funny way, "¡Bien por no preocuparlo!" (Good, just so you don't worry!)

Por dicho can be used in a phrase such as: "Dar algo por dicho", which means to accept something by popular demand or agreement. But por dicho as an answer to How are you is plain wrong.

A variant could be "Dar algo por sentado".

The correct punctuation in your sentence should be:

¿Cómo estás?

Como without a tilde is "like" as in "like you" (not as "to like") estas without a tilde is like "these"

So only "como estas" could be mistaken very well.
