Another way to learn Spanish

Question

You can learn a lot of Spanish when you listen to Spanish music. Here is a song and lyrics of the song "Solo Le Pido a Dios" by Mercedes Sosa.

I've never tried translating English to Spanish, but I agree with Sanlee that music is really helpful and fun for learning Spanish. I like to find translations for Spanish songs that I like and make flashcards for the new vocab. It gives me the listening, new vocab and sentence structure, and the vocab is easier to remember because you learn it in context.

Here's something even better!

http://www.songstraducidas.com/letrastraducidas-a-0.htm You can find songs that you've loved in English, and get the Spanish interpretation ! Get some practice with the subjunctive with "Tears in Heaven"

Get acquainted with how the tenses they use in English, are interpreted in Spanish. etc etc

I think it may be even better than listening to Spanish music you may not understand anyway, as far as VOCABULARY BUILDING, and familiarizing yourself with how things you know so thoroughly are translated by a hispanoparlante.

And of course, when you want to do some listening comprehension exercises, listening to Spanish music is great. It of course can also teach you new things. I was introduced to the future tense from a song Spanish song... I was so impressed that one word meant so much... Seguiré (I will continue)
