Spanish Presentation Help

Question

I have a Spanish presentation and am doing it on spies. I don't know how to say In The Line Of Fire, as in, like a shooting range where spies were executed.

I would say line of fire is línea de fuego

Is "execution" referring to death by firing squad? Then it wold be pelotón de fusilamiento

How about "al alcance (de...)"?

Per definition, it can be translated as range in the military sense. I would still add in whose range he operated, just to make it perfectly clear .
