Es esto correcto?

Hola!

I'm trying to say, "I am waiting to see if I will be adopted". And I've gotten this bit, but it doesn't sound right...

Estoy a la espera de ver si seré adoptado.

Any help?

A strange phrase but your translation is right.

You can also say "Estoy esperando a ver si me adoptan"

Wouldn't "me adoptan" imply that she knows who is adopting her ? ...couldn't it be written more closely to the original as "Estoy esperando a ver si seré adoptado" ? - reinosubterráneo, Feb 25, 2012

In Spanish the passive tense isn´t that common, so to avoid it, because it does sound a little awkward, they either put the verb in the 3rd person plural, like they did in this answer, or in the reflexive, but it also depends a bit on casa by case. - smsmith, Mar 2, 2012
