In Mexico when a police or official wants to perform body search they call it:"revisión". When you go to a concert, before entering to the place, the persons in the entrance make you lift your arms and they touch you all around your body looking for weapons or illegal substances and this is also "una revisión". I'm sure people understand the same with this word in Spain, Argentine or any other spanish speaking country though, maybe, they prefer to use another word. I've never heard people using the word "cacheo" in México but it has the same meaning, I will try to investigate in what conuntry it is used. I hope this is helpful for you. Greetings from México.
