Here's a good one: Swan Song
Hello everyone,
A 'swan song' is the last and usually most significant statement or act before death, or, at least, in the expectation of death. If you thought (knew) you were going to die in a few months, what would you say or do to make the end of your life as poetic and meaningful (to you) as possible? It can also mean a hopeless gesture of defiance, albeit inspired and courageous, towards whatever...but you live through it. The gringos sometimes refer to it as the 'rebel yell', but that's more than a bit one-dimensional, not to say distorted, considering the Civil War context. I received some very thoughtful feedback a few days ago regarding 'make a stand'. So to tie everything together: The 'swan song' happens when you make your last stand. Buen provecho!

Very good! This is a new expression for my book.
I just knew a song called "The Swan Song" by Within Temptation, thinking it was just alluding to a swan.
Greetings.
Yo saltaría en caída libre! Siempre he querido saltar en caída libre, pero tengo miedo de saltar fuera de un avión....y caer quince mil pies. :-0
