Writing never became my hobby. I write maybe because of academic reasons. Writing can be very hard sometimes. Because I’ve noticed that English teachers make mistakes in their grammar, how much more students like me. I was worried about that thought. Worried but didn’t let it stop me from writing and learning how to improve my compositions. Like ham and egg, coherence and unity should be inseparable when writing. Although they both have individual/different meanings, they need each other in order to come up with a good composition. Not just that, you also have to be conscious about your grammar, use of words-like nouns and pronouns, and especially use of verb tenses. After our discussion about this topic, it made it giggle, because I always shift tenses-like when talking about a past action, I accidentally use present tenses. My shifting of pronouns is quite embarrassing as well. I didn’t thought of this before, not until I decided to focus more and be attentive in my BC class to improve not just my writing but also my confidence in literature. I thought of applying coherence and unity in my writing, but didn’t exactly know how to start. This journal entry might have a lot of grammatical errors. It’s hard to apply it because I’m used to the way how I write things, which is not minding about some verb tenses but focusing on ending my article. An effective way for me is to read, reread and read again your article. After writing your draft, try to look at it again and try to observe which part sounds strange. I think that would be the best way to always observe coherence and unity in writing.

Dear Hitsugaya, You have made a very good story. In correcting, I have just tried to follow rules which dictate the definition of a proper sentence (minimum of a noun and a verb, etc.) Of course, as you seem well aware, if you don't know how to structure a sentence in English, it's going to be hard to do in another language, also. Best of luck with your studies.

This journal entry might have a lot of grammatical errors. It’s hard to apply grammatical knowledge, because I’m used to the way I write things. This includes not minding about some verb tenses but focusing on the endings of my articles. An effective way for me to learn is to read, reread and read again an article. After writing a draft, try to look at it again and try to observe which part sounds strange. I think that would be the best way to achieve coherence and unity in writing.
