How would you translate 'Make a stand'?
...in the sense of standing up courageously to defend and declare what you believe in? Especially when it's risky to do so, but you're convinced, no fear...

Hello im new in the forum. Im a native in spanish and i can sugest something. Mm in that context this expresion could be: "Defender mis (convicciones/ideales/creencias)" I'll attach one example.
- Los estudiantes de esta universidad defenderemos nuestras convicciones con nuestra vida.
- The university's students will defend our beliefs with our lives.
I'm not very well in English so if someone can help to improve what i try to say it would be appreciate.

Here are some I found:
Europa está obligada a plantar cara y a convertirse en adalid en la lucha por atajar la crisis financiera actual. / Europe is forced to make a stand and become a standard bearer in the fight for stopping [...]
El conjunto de la sociedad debe plantarse contra la violencia. / The whole of society must make a stand against violence.
En mi opinión es una clara razón para protestar contra estas prácticas. / As far as I am concerned, that is good reason to make a stand against this sequence of events.
Here are some more... (From linguee.es)
I looked up the phrase and found some translations (not google translate translations, native speakers on forums translations):
-Plantar cara
-pararse y defender una posición / idea / opinión / causa
-hicieron una sentada
![]()
Adoptar una postura.
Según lo que busqué puede ser también: ? Oponer resistencia ? Romper con lo establecido ? Mostrar oposición
So you're looking for an idiom. I don't know if the Spanish language has an equal saying of "Make a stand" but I would say a direct translation is "Hacer un stand". Doesn't sound that cool, huh? There may be an actual saying that means the same thing but I don't know it.
You can go to Google translate and translate it to spanish
