Hi! "She almost forgot the note" can be:

- Casi se le olvida la nota.

- A ella casi se le olvida la nota.

Only use "olvidó" if it's not a near past. Eg: "A ella casi se le olvidó la nota AYER"

Otherwise, if it's much trouble, you can use this:

- Ella casi se olvidó de la nota.

Greetings.

Ah, that is much better and makes better sense:) - FELIZ77, Feb 21, 2012
Thank You, Juan :) I didn't know about only using olvidó if it is not a recent past event :0 - FELIZ77, Feb 21, 2012
You're very welcome! FELIZ77 (: yeah it's often used "olvidar" in present tense, perhaps because "casi" will say it actually never happened. - JuanPabloW, Feb 21, 2012
Juan, smiles go this way around :-) sad faces are like this :-( - FELIZ77, Feb 22, 2012

1) You forgot to translate the verb "to find".

2) Olvidó has an accent.

3) The note is "la nota".

Ella casi se le olvidó encontrar la nota.

But you may want to wait for native speaker.

thanks. typing errors on my part/ using my english settings hence the lack of acentos - karinacocina, Feb 21, 2012

In English you would not forget to find something (which really sounds strange to my ears, being a native) but you might forget to look for it so I would suggest you should say something along the lines of:

Casí ella se olvidó buscar la nota

= She almost forgot to look for the note

Update: or, better still: (learning from Juan Pablo)

She almost forgot the note:

= Casi ella se le olvida la nota

I hope this helps grin

Present tense of olvidar for he / she is Olvida which translates to Forget not to Forgot. The correct tense should be the preterite Olvidó. ( Ella casi se olvidó ) send me to the dunces corner if I'm wrong, but not before you tell me where I'm wrong.

I wrote it that way because I know that sometimes when you say "I forgot" you say "se me olvide" but i have also heard "me olvide" too so I'm about as in the dark as you are as to the mechanism behind it.

I don't have an answer for you, but I do have a question if you don't mind. Can you please explain why you used the "se le" phrase in your sentence? Actually, if you, or someone else, can please explain the structure behind the sentence and why you wrote it that way I would feel really good. thanks in advance.
